This is a grown up version of a favourite cold-weather treat. The addition of superfoods to the mix makes this not just a treat, but highly nutritious as well. The flavours are subtle yet complex. Use this formula and experiment with your favourite combinations.
9 tbsp raw cacao powder
3 tbsp carob powder
3 tbsp lucuma powder
1 tbsp ground cinnamon
2 tsp cardamom
1/4 tsp cloves
pinch of cayenne
1 tsp vanilla powder
large pinch of himalayan salt
Optional: add in 2 to 3 tsp of Dandy Blend for a mocha flavour
Milk of choice: Almond milk, coconut milk, rice milk, goat or cow’s milk.
Maple syrup to sweeten (or use a few drops of liquid vanilla stevia)
Mix all dry ingredients together in a glass jar.
To make a single serving:
Heat 1 to 1 1/2 cups of milk in a pot to hot but not boiling. Add 1 tbsp of dry mixture to the hot milk and whisk to combine. Add 1/2 to 1 tbsp or more of maple syrup to sweeten (alternatively add a few drops of liquid vanilla stevia). Taste and add more sweetener or cacao mixture as needed.
