A super delicious and beautifully pink combination of nutrient dense superfoods. The ultimate detox smoothie!
1 1/2 cups coconut water (or use pure water instead)
1/2 medium avocado
1 large celery, chopped
1 heaping cup strawberries, fresh or frozen
1/2 cup peeled and chopped raw beet (steam until tender if you don’t have a high-powered blender)
2 tbsp lemon juice, approx. 1/2 lemon
1 to 2 tbsp hemp seeds
Add 2 to 5 drops vanilla cream stevia to sweeten if necessary (or use maple syrup, honey or dates)
In a high-powered blender, combine all ingredients and purée until smooth.
An important note about blenders:
I have been using my Blendtec for the last 8 years, and it is soooo awesome. I usually take it away when I go on vacation, but didn’t on this past ski vacation for March break. Too much luggage if you know what I mean. If you have ever gone on a ski trip and had to fly with your stuff, you get it. Plus we had a blender where I was staying. It was a great learning experience for me. My smoothies tasted gross. All chunky and gritty. It has been awhile since I had used a regular blender. And I know that it is an investment to purchase a Blendtec, but I guess what I want to get across is this. If you enjoy smoothies and want to make an investment in your health, buy a high-powered blender. And if you are getting any objection from the man of the house, he will soon fall in love with it too. You know how men like their power tools!! Take a look at your current life and what you are spending money on. Do you buy a Starbuck’s coffee a few times a week? Get take out? Go out to dinner? Add it up. Put the money towards an investment in you and your family’s health. You won’t regret it. Birthday coming up? Mother’s day? Father’s day? Earth day?
