These are the tastiest beans I have ever had and are so easy to make. They seriously take only 5-minutes!! Serve them over smashed baked potatoes or with a side of quinoa or rice and greens. My son loves these served straight up with a side of toast or organic blue sprouted tortilla chips.
3 tbsp tamari soy sauce
2 tbsp cane juice crystals or sucanat
1/3 cup water
1 tbsp organic ketchup
3 cloves garlic
1/2 tsp grated fresh ginger
2 cans kidney beans (4 cups cooked)
2 tsp arrowroot powder dissolved in 1/4 cup water
In a medium saucepan combine tamari, cane juice crystals, sucanat, water, ketchup, garlic, and ginger. Mix and bring to a boil. Stir in beans. Add arrowroot mixture and stir for 1 to 2 minutes. Serve immediately. See below for print-friendly version:
